even if i don’t get to play for any guest preachers etc, i will still feel like the most privileged musician on Earth.I find it more of an honour to be able to play alongside people who have dirtied their hands while in the process of guiding us on the right path, watching over our lives and making sure that we’re having a healthy walk with God :)

So David came to Saul and stood before him. And he loved him greatly, and he became his armorbearer.
In biblical days, an armorbearer was one who actually carried the shield and armor of his leader as he went into battle, often acting as his personal assistant. So in this case, David was Saul’s armorbearer, assistant. The term armorbearer was originally translated from the Hebrew word, nasa, meaning to figuratively or literally lift up, support or simply help.
Armor, is a protection, but also something heavy to carry around. By being an armorbearer, we carry the burdens of our leaders, and also bring the protection to them. An armorbearer is one that helps or supports the arms of an assigned leader during the times of battle. So as armorbearer, we need to support our leaders to the battle with devil, we need to support them to change people’s lives, to love people, to grow the kingdom of God.
When we are armorbearer of our leaders, we are also armorbearer of God. Jesus said, “The servant of all is the greatest of all.” So it is actually a calling to be an armorbearer! In the book of 1 Samuel chapter 14, it talks about Jonathan’s armorbearer.
1 Samuel 14:6-7
Then Jonathan said to the young man who bore his armor, “Come, let us go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised; it may be that the LORD will work for us. For nothing restrains the LORD from saving by many or by few.”
So his armorbearer said to him, “Do all that is in your heart. Go then; here I am with you, according to your heart.”An armorbearer is someone who believe in his leader, and support him in every single area. He is always with the leader, serving and helping him. Servanthood is need for armorbearer, there must be a desire in him to serve and support the leader.

From this verse, we also can see that David became Saul’s armorbearer, because Saul loved him. It shows that more than serving our leader, we need to be able to flow with our leader. There need to be a special connection and strong relationship in order to be an armorbearer of a leader. Loving is involved here, we need to love and serve on the same time. More than being a servant, we need to be a disciple, a son.
Make your decision today, seek God and be an armorbearer of your leader!
HAHA, I love this, I am going to turn this into a sermon one day.
Leading was never about theories, philosophies or systematic instructions; but to lead is love.
Thinking about so many things. Reflecting on everything that went on over the Christmas services. Need to grow in mental and emotional capacity. Many times under pressure, people might tend to become nastier than who we really are; and we really hope that there are rules and regulations that can help us restrict and control the situation.
But to think about it, leading was never about restricting and control, but it is to remain firm within the boundary of our care and concern — it is strong love.
Need to love people even more. Pressure and stress cause frustration in us that might swallow the love in our hearts. But I pray for a bigger heart of love!
I pray for mercy and forgiveness. Forgiveness brings power and strength to the love in our hearts to overcome the frustration that breeds in a difficult situation, or with difficult people.
Love makes us sharp. Sharp for details. And details determine destiny. God made our lives full of destiny. It all links as a circle.
Love is big.
God is a big God.
Read some stuff on facebook, not to judge, but it set me thinking…
God really loves us and treats us as His precious babies that He gave us the power of freewill over our lives. Many times when things come our way, we think that God is always the mastermind behind every misfortune, and sometimes to the other extreme, we do not bless and give thanks to the Lord who has blessed us tremendously over our lives.
Yet, in most part of our life we call life (quoted from beloved SP Lia), it is not God that determine how our life will be like. Yes, I do not disagree that God plans our destiny and intervenes in the circumstance of our lives. He is the Creator, He is the Author of our lives. He has all the authority and power to rewrite everything that happens here on earth, but… God chose to give us freewill to walk our own life. We aren’t robots in the eyes of the Father!
When God sent Moses to save the Israelites from bondage, didn’t God already know that His sons and daughters would turn against Him, even before He called Moses at Mount Horeb?
God loves us so much that despite knowing the risk of humans turning against Him, He still gave us the power of freewill, and ultimately, gave His life so that we can be cleansed of the sins that we have turned against Him.
This is the power of God’s freewill love towards us.
I wonder how some people leave God out of their lives totally and are unhappy with living a life of God, and at the same time, still complain about life in the world. There is such a distinct choice of walking life, crucial point is: Are we walking with God?
Today, what’s our freewill towards God?
I’m excited! (: Breakthrough is coming. A change is happening!
The new chapters of our lives as Christians, as church builders, stone carriers, and God chasers are coming.
We are rising up, going to a new level. I see a vision of arrows pointing upwards, and I feel we’re gonna shoot through the skies, soar above the clouds. We are all gonna step upwards further into what God has called us to do.
Something is stirring in the spirit. God is brewing a mighty storm (:
Consecrate our hearts for God. He is worthy of everything from us.
Let there be no more distractions. Focus on Him and Him only.
God is the sole purpose behind our destinies. Under every form of destiny that God has planned and created, He is the one true reason that should reign above all areas of our lives, all types of skills and talents, all forms of destinies.
Because we love God, and thus we love people. Because we believe in God, thus we believe in people. Because we serve God, thus we serve people.
No destinies live long without God in it. He is the source and drive for it all. A vision without God is ambition.
Ambition is “an earnest desire for some type of achievement or distinction, as power, honor, fame, or wealth, and the willingness to strive for its attainment”.
I do all that I’m doing not for fame, not for glory, nor for power or wealth. But for the sole purpose that God first love me, He gave His all; and that’s why I wanna love Him, serve Him. And because I love Him and love serving Him, then it now comes to loving and serving people.
Our distractions and worries in life are smaller than us. How much more, when compared to God? They should never be the source of our compromise towards God, nor the big plans that God has written down for us. It is a norm that we face worries and distractions, but shall it be a norm that our commitment and faithfulness towards God are compromised because of all these?
If God was a puzzle solver, and every part and area of our lives were the pieces of puzzles, will the pieces of puzzles put themselves together, or will God be the one piecing all of it together to form a complete picture perfect?
God is the Author of our lives.
If God won’t write the chapters of our lives, who then, will?
Sometimes people do things thinking that what they do is for the welfare of the person. But sometimes, they never consider how what they do might affect how the person feels.
Everyday, everything we do, is all about achieving this balance.
